Watawieh and Welcome to Wild Tavake!
My name is Hiva. I'm a 13 year old bird photographer and wildlife guardian from Norfolk Island. I am on a mission to protect Earth's wild spaces and species, starting with the forests of my home.
Five years ago I took my first bird photograph, and it changed my life. My curiosity for these beautiful and diverse creatures led to an understanding of just how vulnerable they are to extinction, due to our human behaviours. It is estimated that we are on track to lose around 1,300 more bird species in the next 200 years.
I started Wild Tavake because I know how it works - one caring person gets another person to care, and so on, until there are a flock of caring people who work together to safeguard our wild spaces. If you have found my website, caring person, know that we can make a difference!
If you would like to follow my mission or support my native forest regeneration program, please get in touch.
